The past week has been mostly Christmas lessons. Classes with enthusiastic kids have done lots of high energy games with Christmas vocab, which has been a ball. Classes with more troublesome kids have made a Christmas card by colouring in and attaching various Christmas themed pictures to a Christmas tree shape. I have learned that even the most feral groups of kids respond well to colouring in activities. Admittedly, they didn't learn too much (I did throw in a little vocab, but I don't think many of them cared), but I saw it as an all-round win. The kids were happy, quiet and industrious. This resulted in a happy home-room teacher and a happy Lucy. I also saw some very interesting arrangements of Christmas pictures:
- A candle beneath the Christmas Tree, with lots of smoke and flames coming from the tree
- A candle underneath a snowman, with drips of melt coming off the snowman
- A candle under Santa Claus, with poor old Santa turning really red
Today I did my last three high-energy Christmas lessons, and with that, I now get to enjoy three weeks off for the winter.
