Utsunomiya

On our way to Nikko today, we went through Utsunomiya Station. As soon as we got off the train, we sa great big arrows labelled "Nikko". At no time did we have any uncertainty as to which way to go next; huge and prominently placed signage was everywhere. Apart from the arrows indicating which way to go, there were also rows of posters advertising "Welcome to UTSUNOMIYA -  The Gateway to World Heritage site NIKKO". For a city with a population of over 500,000, they don't seem to have much to be proud of...
